Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice Statement

Ethics Statement

United Journal of Chemistry, published by Scientific & Academic Publishing, is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in publishing, including handling errors and restrictions responsibly. We believe it is essential for all parties—authors, editors, and reviewers—to adhere to clear ethical guidelines.

Our ethics policies are primarily based on the principles set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All authors, editors, and reviewers associated with SAP are expected to comply with these standards to ensure integrity and transparency in scholarly publishing.

Responsibilities of Authors:

By submitting a manuscript to Scientific & Academic Publishing, authors affirm that their work is original and has not been published previously nor is under consideration for publication elsewhere.

  • Authors must properly acknowledge all data sources and cite relevant publications that have influenced their research.

  • Authorship should be granted only to those who have made significant contributions to the manuscript. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring all co-authors approve the submission.

  • Any financial or other potential conflicts of interest that could affect the interpretation of the work must be disclosed, along with all sources of financial support.

  • Authors are expected to promptly inform the editors of any significant errors or inaccuracies found in their published work to facilitate corrections.

  • Research involving human or animal subjects must comply with all applicable national, local, and institutional regulations and ethical standards.

Responsibilities of Editors:

Editors hold the final authority on whether a manuscript submitted to Scientific & Academic Publishing is accepted for publication. Their decisions are based on the results of peer reviews, evaluations by the editorial board, and the overall significance of the article.

  • Editors must assess each manuscript solely on its intellectual merit, without bias related to the author’s race, color, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political views.

  • Confidentiality must be strictly maintained; editors should not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript except to the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, editorial advisors, and the publisher.

  • Editors are prohibited from using unpublished material from a manuscript for their own research without the explicit written permission of the author(s).

Responsibilities of Reviewers:

  • Reviewers should provide objective, constructive feedback, supporting their opinions with clear reasoning. Personal criticism of the author is unacceptable.

  • Reviewers must verify that authors have properly acknowledged all data sources, ensuring that any previously reported observations, derivations, or arguments are appropriately cited.

  • All information related to submitted manuscripts must be kept confidential. Manuscripts received for review are considered privileged and must not be shared.

  • Reviewers should inform the editors promptly if they are unable to complete the review within the assigned timeframe or if they have any potential conflicts of interest. They should also decline review requests for manuscripts outside their expertise.
